Saving End Grain Teak Chopping Board Tulasi

One of newer design ideas we have for our end grain butcher block boards is to put an under-sweeping curved profile into the sides of the board. This one is the Tulasi which is used for small to medium sized chopping jobs, and in this smaller size the curved profile makes the saving board easier to pick up and carry as well as looking attractive. We are fans of Teak for this application because of its beauty and hardwearing nature, so after selecting the material we glue all the pieces together in order to form the end grain surfaces that are so great for chopping on. Profiling and super fine sanding are next, before coats of mineral oil are applied to protect the surfaces and enhance the color of the wood.
