Saving PAPER CUTTING Tree of Hearts Scherenschnitte

This Valentine's Day inspired creation evolved because I love trees. (You'll notice this tree trend in my shop under the Flora category!)
The Scherenschnitte Paper Cutting shown saving is made from velvety black silhouette paper imported from Germany and is double mounted on red and then silver metallic scrapbook cardstock to fit an 8x10" frame. (A single color background can fit into a 5x7" frame.)

This ORIGINAL paper cutting design is from a pattern that I created in my sketchbook. I replicate the pattern onto archival quality paper. Then, using embroidery scissors I personally hand-cut the design from one sheet of paper, so it is unique unto itself. After the cutting is finished, adhesive is carefully applied to the back of the design to mount it onto cardstock paper. When satisfied with the final product, I sign my work on the front. The mounted artwork is placed in a protective plastic sleeve before shipping.

Handle with care! Papercut art is very delicate. You may wish to display your paper cutting design in a 8x10” (or larger, if matted) frame to protect the finely cut paper.
