This figurine is a replica of an item located at the National museum in Athens Greece. The Geometric art spans the period from the late 11th to the 8th century BC and is characterized by exquisite examples of bronze metalwork. Art was influenced to a large extent by the Homeric Epics. Small-scale sculpture was dominated by the ideal type of the warrior-hero, the charioteer and the horse that symbolized social and political power. The works, which were rather unskillfully rendered at first, are marked by austerity, plainness, tectonic forms, schematization and clear-cut contours. All our bronze items, are cast in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass-produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring. Each piece is, therefore, unique.(112100192001-A)
