Italian Silver saving lidded pot with rope detail

A charming and unusual lidded pot with beautifully worked rope detail on the handles and lid saving. It has a low wide body with a narrower raised neck and the lid fits snugly.

There are Italian hallmarks in the base of the pot. Firstly 800 for the Silver Grade (800/1000 parts Silver) and the Standard post-1968 State marks. A five-pointed star indicating Silver; 552 being the registration number of the Maker (unidentified); and FI for Florence.

The pot is in excellent condition with just a tiny dink in one side (photograph 9)

A wonderful and quirky piece of Vintage Silver that displays well and is also useful!
