Hand saving Turned Boxelder Burl Goose Call

Short reed Canada goose call made from saving a beautifully triple dye (blue, purple, and turquoise) stabilized piece of highly figured boxelder burl wood.


Wood stabilizing is the process of impregnating resin under vacuum into the cellular structures of the wood. The process is done to harden and strengthen the wood while also making it more impervious to moisture. During the process dyes can be added to the resin at various times to create brilliant and vibrant color additions to the wood.
