1922 Main Street Sinclair Lewis 31st Printing Grosset & Dunlap

Thought to be one of Sinclair Lewis best books, this is A Wonderful Satirical Novel about life in small town Midwest USA.
First published by Harcourt, Brace, and Howe in 1920. Not expected to be a huge success by Mr. Lewis who figured the book to only sell about 10,000 copies. Harcourt, Brace, and Howe expected about 20,000 copies would sell, but they were both wrong. Instead in the first Six Months of 1921 over 180,000 copies of Main Street sold, and the orders kept on coming. In 1923 Warner Bros. Film Company made a silent movie based on the book and it was a big hit. In 2011 another movie was made loosely based on the book only this time the lead character is a man instead of a woman and of course it's not a silent movie.
