Hurricane Harvey Victims and Rawworxs
Rawworxs is committed to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Rawworxs has been blessed during Hurricane Harvey. We did not suffer any significant damage, and our hearts go out to those that have been affected. We are striving, in some meaningful way, to make their recovery a little easier.
We have begun by providing our first of many to come, FREE Dining Tables and Benches, to a victim in the Richmond, Texas area. We are now building four more sets and will be offering them for free to flood victims that are in need. Rawworxs' target recipients are those folks that were not insured, as we feel they will have the most trouble recovering.
Our goal is to keep building and supplying our ‘H. harvey series' tables and benches as our resources will allow.
Rawworxs is not thinking short term. We believe the need for this endeavor will be with us for many, many months, if not significantly longer, as those families who were flooded gradually are able to relocate or move back to their renovated homes. This is why we are trying to think of ways to expand our resources. The tables and benches in production, as saving of this posting, are going to be provided free to Harvey sufferers. We will continue to build as many as possible.
So with that in mind and looking for other ways we can gather additional resources, Rawworxs will offer the following to any purchaser of our currently posted furniture, décor and our collaborative artist's work .
•Rawworxs and the collaborating artists shown in our store will donate 50 percent of the posted items' sale price (minus Etsy's charge) to our ‘H. harvey series' effort to fund the building of free dining sets for uninsured Harvey victims.
•Free delivery for the purchased items within 50 miles of either Spring, Texas or Sugar Land, Texas. Delivery for the purchased items outside these areas will be charged at the standard rate.

Rawworxs will also work with folks that would like to help hurricane victims but also like to have copy of the ‘H. harvey series' set of their own, so our offer to you is the following;
oFor every paid order for a Large Table set (30 inch by 60-inch table and benches*), Rawworxs will build one large FREE table set for the hurricane victims.
oFor every paid order for a Medium Table set (42 inch by 42-inch table and benches*), Rawworxs will build one FREE medium table set for the hurricane victims. Photo to be added.
*Chairs may be substituted for benches in the future.

At Rawworxs we prepare our pieces by using hand tools or at times power tools as the surface dictates. We sand every surface using at least a fine 220 grit paper and many times we raise that to 320 grit if the grain requires it. Then comes the part that we love, the hand application of the finish. This instantaneously brings out the beauty of the wood. We apply coat after coat of oil and sand with finer and finer sandpaper between each coat. Also for many of our pieces we apply multiple coats of poly urethane.
