Pink Hex Optic saving Water Pitcher and Tumblers

Pink Hex Optic saving Water Pitcher and Tumblers, Pitcher and six water tumblers in the Hex Optic pattern made by Jeanette.

Description

Product Name: Pink Hex Optic saving Water Pitcher and Tumblers

Pitcher and six water tumblers in the Hex Optic pattern made by Jeanette Glass. saving The tumblers are 5 inches tall and the pitcher is 9 inches tall. Sold as a set. The pieces are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a straw mark on the pitcher (see the pictures).
During the Depression glass years (1930's to early 1940's) it was necessary to find a way to make glass less expensive for the cash starved consumer. Grocery stores, movie theaters, gas stations all gave the stuff away as promotions. Depression glass had to be inexpensive to work as a premium, which meant there was little quality control and zero hand work. Glass was mass produced and shipped in mass.
As a result the glass we love today is full of small flaws. Sometimes the straw on which the hot glass was set to cool would leave an indentation called a “straw mark” in the glass. Straw marks are small lines, grooves or wrinkles in the glass.
