Chuck has been designing and creating his whole life. He is a self-taught artist whose only training has come from research, reading and a lot of practice! Throughout the years he has dabbled in numerous mediums, including macramé, leather, acrylic painting, Batik and more. When he discovered Paperclay, everything he ever knew or created came together and proved to be a success. His goal, as he tells customers and friends is not to follow the trends, but to set them.

Chuck has been active with designing holiday decor for the Festival of Trees in Davenport, IA, one of the top ten shows in the nation. In his 18 years of designing, he has won over 30 ribbons for his designs, including numerous Best in Shows, First Places and more. He now owns C.R. McClenning, where he is able to both design and retail.

Chuck knows it is not easy to design and create…if it was, everyone would be doing it! Designing and creating is a passion for him and he loves to go to work in his studio and watch saving as one of his ideas becomes a reality.
