Description

Product Name: Vintage Mexican Sterling Silver & saving Brass Modernist Piedra Negra Woman at Fire Pin/Brooch Mixed Metal

Presented is a hand-made Mexican modernist piedra negra (black saving stone) brooch/pin, also known as a "metales casados" or married metals piece, from the mid-1900's. This lovely pin features an understated, timeless abstract design in brass and sterling silver contrasted against jet black resin. I see a woman gazing into an outdoor fire, don't you? The pin has a solid sterling silver back with a bar pin and rollover clasp, very substantial and made to last a very long time.

The pin back is signed by the maker with the initials "RH", and "Plata" (silver), "925" (sterling purity), "Metales Casados", which indicates Taxco, Mexico . We guarantee the sterling silver purity in this pin for you, of course.

The condition of the pin is excellent, with just minor surface wear. We didn't polish the metals to their highest luster, in order to preserve the vintage patina, but you could!
