Vintage 1960s Sterling Silver saving and Abalone Shell Brooch, Iridescent Inlaid Mother of Pearl Abalone Shell

This is a beautiful little abstract oval sunray design brooch, featuring an inlay of grooved iridescent blue-green Abalone or Paua shell laid into a pretty Victorian-style Sterling Silver setting saving. This is a really deep greeny-blue shell that is very distinctive and eye catching.
This measures 1.8cms x 3.2cms (just under 3/4" x 1 1/4") and it has a secure C clasp on the back. This used to be a rollover clasp but the rollover bit has gone missing. now it functions pretty well as a conventional C-clasp.
This is marked 'STG. SIL.' on the back in capital letters under the pin, for Sterling 925 silver.

I love this little brooch as it's so eye-catching with the beautiful shades of deep blue-green shell complemented by the warm silver rope-edged setting - very pretty indeed.
