McCoy Leaves & Berries #83 Tab Handled 8" Vase Rose saving and Green Matte -Vintage c 1930s

Offering a fine Nelson McCoy Leaves and Berries tab handled vase. It is McCoy's # 83 vase, as shown in the 1938 catalog reproduction on page 33 of the McCoy Pottery Collectors Guide, by Nissen & Hanson, Vol 3. saving Vol 1 of the same Collectors Guide shows a few examples on page 28, in various sizes and glazes. This example was the largest of the 3 sizes made, and is crisply molded with nice definition.

The vase is finished in a matte, dusty rose color with green for the leaves.

Size: 8-1/4" high; 5" diameter; 5-1/8" across the tab handles.

It is not marked, as was typical for these pieces from the 1920s and '30s.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or fleabites. There are a few greyish scuff lines on the lower part of the pink surface. The green paint was applied originally using a sprayer, and on one side of the vase the green came out with small speckles. This was original to the making.
