1931 Book on saving Metallurgy: Impurities in Metals, Old Book Steel Metals and Alloys, General Electric Company Salvage
"Impurities in Metals: Their Influence on Structure and Properties" was written by Colin J.
"Impurities in Metals: Their Influence on Structure and Properties" was written by Colin J. Smithells, a member of General Electric Company's research staff. Published by John Wiley & Sons Inc. of New York, this is the revised 2nd edition and the book offers 184 pages plus a useful 5-page index. Well illustrated with many black and white photographs, along with many charts and tables. This is an authentic antiquarian book from the era and it is not a reproduction, not a reprint, not a digital print. The book represented the state of the art of metallurgy as it was known in England and America in the 1920s and 1930s. The hard cover book is in good condition, with a secure binding, all the pages, no problems, with wear to the covers. The inside front cover page has a name written in cursive, "Wm. T Brown Jr.", presumably a previous owner. The book measures about 9 7/8" by 6 3/8" by 1". In good condition.
