It is white porcelain cut to a cranberry glass inner base. The cranberry windows that are around the vase and lid give a bright accent to the rose floral design painted on the porcelain surface. The lid handle is clear with a gold tip. The vase base is a floral ring sitting atop a gold ring. This dish is elegant and uncommon. A decorative piece that would go most anywhere. The dish is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or scuffs. It is 8 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches diameter at the widest point. Examples of this style porcelain/glass appear to be 1930s or earlier.
