The fifth book in Baum's series was published in 1909. Dorothy Gale comes to the aid of ‘The Shaggy Man' a likeable hobo who asks for directions saving. Dorothy leads him to the road & she finds a multitude of roads she did not expect and is unfamiliar. She continues with Toto & The Shaggy Man & soon meets two others. After many adventures they finally make it to Oz.
