The Adam Dalgliesh series follows this Detective Chief Inspector, later Commander for the Metropolitan Police at New Scotland Yard, London. He is a late example of the gentleman detective.P. D. James (1920-2014) was an English novelist and politician, with her series featuring protagonist Adam Dalgliesh being her most renowned work. As well as the fourteen Adam Dalgliesh mysteries, she penned two saving Cordelia Gray mysteries, three novels and a number of short stories.This is a first edition of this work. Condition Report: In the publisher's original paper covered boards, with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Overall: Fine
