I began this piece early in the 2010's in what was intended to be a painting of someone very dear saving. Alas, I was unable to bring myself to paint the likeness of my dear loved one. What emerged over time was a likeness similar to the classy refined Creole women I grew up around in South Louisiana. I appropriately named her Ann-Marie.
