What better way to honour our Servicemen than to wear a vintage pair of Royal Canadian Legion cufflinks ...
This fine pair of cufflinks has the Royal Canadian Legion Coat of Arms applied on sterling silver, rounded rectangle shapes. The backing style is known by a number of names, such as, Bullet Back, T Bar or Toggle style. The backs and toggles are stamped “STERLING” and the shank has a stamp that I don't recognize.
The RCL was founded in November 1925 and I believe these cufflinks are circa 1940s-50s.
Included in this purchase is a BONUS pin (or brooch), that also has the RCL Coat of Arms but it is applied to a circular piece of mother-of-pearl that is set in a silver-tone, ruffle edged frame.
Approximate measurements:
Cufflink Tops - 1.75 cm X 1.5 cm (11/16” X 9/16”)
Brooch - 3 cm diameter (1 1/8”)
